She is the type of person who has her own ideals and mindset and I admire that in a person. When it comes to being a sweet, caring person, she is tops, with her constant support and friendship. 1) I love being a Grandmother, it's all fun and games!
2) I enjoy walks along the waterfront in Kingston and
Plymouth Ma. It brings me serenity every time
3) I have become more of a cat person, I use
to only want dogs, now it's the other way around
4) I kinda baby my baby who is now 18, I can't
help it, he is all I have left at home
5) I am in aww of how my daughter has grown
into such a wonderful women and mother.
As well as my best friend :)
6) I am constantly intrigued by human
behavior. You never know what you learn
next about people!
7) I'm really grateful my husband and I
are going to grow old together, we have
been through the toughest of times, but
somehow, someway we keep on getting back
to the best of times :)

Fawk the RMV

Hello, I hope your doing good. I am doing pretty good. I've just had a very frustrating week! So I'm going to vent a little bit. I lost my license a while back, due to my own fault, but I don't want to get into that now. So enough time has past and I'm able to get my license back. But because of the laws here in Ma, getting it back is soooo tough. I have to provide all this paperwork to prove I've corrected my mistakes, that's fine, I get it, I deserve this aggravation, yada, yada, yada. But there is this one man at the RMV who has for a second time this week denied my paperwork for stupid reasons, and once again I have to correct something and go back again. Nevermind how tough it is to get there, not being able to drive, nevermind sitting there for hours, sure Mr RMV, I'll correct the petty mistakes that you could have easily waved, no problem!! And as these delays come up, I usually wouldn't mind, where I'm here at home not working. But wouldn't you know it, that job I told you about in a earlier post is becoming more promising by the day. I have been called back for a second interview. A job I have been waiting to get for almost 2 years, a job in which I need a license!! So now watch I'll get the job offer but not be able to do it with all this BS from the RMV. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I'm just so frustrated, hence the Betty White photo lol! Who knows maybe things will work out, I guess sometimes I just feel I'm stuck in this rut and I'm never going to get out, hard as I try. But one thing I know for sure that helps me get through the BS of life is laughter, so I added some stuff I found funny this week, I hope you enjoy a laugh too.

Students at a new Utah high school are facing disappointment after their choice for a new school mascot was rejected for one of the strangest reasons possible:

The Canyons School Board refused to accept the Cougar as a mascot out of fear that it might offend older women. In the current edition of the Webster Dictionary, the second definition for cougar sights a slang terminology that refers to "a middle-aged woman seeking a romantic relationship with a younger man." To say that the board's reaction to having a school play as the Cougars was a bit over the top is certainly an understatement!

Patricia Deshong, 25, and Quentin Deshong, 22, were arrested Jan. 7 in Metal Township, Penn., after attempting to blow up a vehicle using flaming tampons. The incident took outside of a bar and, as a result, the duo were arrested on a variety of charges, including attempted arson, public drunkenness, and criminal mischief

Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop, 30, was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and a violation of probation in Madison, Wisc.

Zopittybop-Bop-Bop was born Jeffrey Drew Wilschke, according to court records unearthed by the Capital Times. He legally changed his name to Beezow Doo-Doo Zoopittybop-Bop-Bop in October.

According to Zopittybop-Bop-Bop's apparent Facebook account, when he's not in trouble with the law he enjoys activities including "eating," "standing," walking," "thinking," and "diamond." He's also single... so there's that, ladies!

The Power Of The Gentle Personality

Hello, I hope your doing good today! I am doing great. I actually got a call for a job interview! And not just any job, a job I really want! I don't like getting my hopes up, but it is days like this that help give me a sense of renewed hope, that I so need, in this haze of a job search I have been on. I'll share more about the job if it works out, just keep your fingers crossed for me, and maybe your toes too. Ya, I guess you could say I'm that desperate that I would ask you to do the toes too! When I came across this article today from Gerti Schoen, it was just what I needed to read. I know I have become more insecure about myself, more sensitive, over the past year and a half. The insecurity and sensitivity stems from trying to start my life over, achieving the goals I had set for myself a long time ago, but never had the opportunity to see them through. Reasons being from life circumstances, to my own mistakes. And even though I can honestly say I am at peace with the past and happy to be where I am at today, those insecurities just have a way of creeping up on me know and then. I have been sensitive to the fact that maybe I won't achieve what I set out to, maybe there is something I need to change about me to fit in somewhere, you know how it is when those negative thoughts start rolling around in your head! But thanks to this article by Gerti it has helped to give me a new perspective today. That being a sensitive, and sometimes insecure person, does not have to be a bad thing. It has just been part of the journey I need to take to be become an "actualized version" of myself. I like that don't you? Achieving an "actualized version" of ourselves. I hope this has helped you too if you are having any insecurities about yourself or your life as well.

The first thing that absolutely must be said about introverts and gentle people of all kind is that we have a lot to offer. Many of us walk around with the nagging worry that being aggressive and flamboyantly extrovert is the way to go. That we have to change at all costs in order to be successful, noticed, appreciated and so on.

We don’t.

Gentle people can have very fulfilled lives. We find meaning and confidence in working hard at what is important to us. We crave connection with others and want to lend a helping hand. We are empaths, people who have the ability to put themselves into another person’s shoes, and thus create loving and harmonious relationships.

Most of us, in fact, have an artistic streak. I am thinking about the legions of young actors and artists who come to New York City, enduring rejection and discouragement seemingly without end, but they keep plugging away at their goals. They may not always end up becoming big movie stars. But they find the self-exploration that comes with the job rewarding and meaningful.

The sensitivity we possess may sometimes feel more like a curse than a blessing. But when employed skillfully, it enables us to create powerful relationships of mutual respect and inspiration.

Not all gentle folks are shy or socially awkward. Some of us are curious and outgoing, have lots of friends and always turn to new interests. But most of us do prefer smaller settings and one-on-one meetings to big gatherings. We crave the intimacy of a quiet tête-à-tête that enables us to focus on the deeper aspects of a conversation. We may come across as aloof, but nobody could ever accuse us of being shallow!

So no, you don’t have to become another person to enjoy life. If you are feeling bad about yourself, chronically anxiety ridden or inferior to others, it’s not about trying to be different, but to become a more actualized version of yourself. To bring out the talents that lie underneath the layers of low self-esteem and/or depression. To take pride in the skills and experience you have to show for yourself.

What it takes is persistence. Learn about who you are. Observe yourself. Write about yourself. Take pictures of yourself. Look yourself in the mirror. Be “selfish” – not as in self-centered, but as in self-aware. As those wise old men said: To study the self is to forget the self. You have to find yourself before you can be truly useful to others. It’s an exciting journey.

Lifestyles Of The Poor And Hopeless

Hello, Yes, sad but true, this is the style of life that 15 Million Americans are living today while trying to achieve the American Dream, myself included. And you know there would never be a show featuring this reality of life, because it would be an unpleasant reality, people would prefer to watch the rich and famous one they had years ago. I can tell you this for sure, because even though I have been living as one of the 15 million the past two years, unemployed, bordering on depression and hopelessness, with each, "Thank You for applying, this position has been filled by another candidate" the reality of what is really going on didn't hit me until I had to go to my local Unemployment office last week. I just needed a letter for something else stating my benefits ran out in 2010. I had always filed my benefits over the phone, so I never had to go to the office. All I can say is wow, what an eye opener. I went on a Friday morning and they told me it was a 4 hour wait. I thought to myself, I don't want to sit here for 4 hours, I'll come back when they open next week early and be one of the first in line. And that's what I did. Getting there early got me #38 in line. As I stood in line it grew and grew, I saw every age group, male, female. The man ahead of me was in his late 50's, probably close to retiring and there he stands, in the unemployment line. I talked with him and some others while we waited to get in and the main theme that ran through all of our stories was the same, hopelessness. Then they open the doors and we all file in, and right after me they stopped taking people. All the others behind me in line were told to come back later or come back the next day. I never thought I would have to feel "lucky" to get in an unemployment office! I waited about 4 hrs for a letter that took 1 minute to print. I left there that day just disgusted with our government. I am not a big political person, but I do know that we have all been pretty much screwed out of the American Dream. I will never do better than my Parents who worked a job without a college degree and were able to obtain the American dream and then some. And it's just not me I think about, I worry for my children and grandchildren, will they ever be able to achieve their dreams. And now being an Election year, I can't stand that I have to listen to them all babble their BS, and I don't even watch the debates, but I have to hear them between the news and the commercials. I just don't believe any of them are going to change anything. They promise the world and deliver nothing, election after election. I had faith in President Obama and I still do a little, because I can't believe that anyone could turn this around in less than 4 yrs. I remember everything going down hill when Bush was in office, so putting another Republican in is something I am definitively against. No offense to anyone who believes otherwise, it's just my observation, my opinion, if you can convince me otherwise, feel free to leave me a comment. I know this has been a depressing post, but it is something I felt the need to write about. I wanted to help you see the reality of the numbers like I did. If you have a job be thankful. Don't take it for granted even if you hate it some days. Even with my college degree, and working with an employment agency, I apply at places even like Walmart and still nothing. There is probably an average of 500 applications for every position posted from what I'm told, it's that tough out there. I also wanted to share this with you so if you do go and vote this year, really think about what is going on in America. Remember the reality of these 15 million people that have lost their American Dream, because it could be you among them at anytime, and trust me, it is not a good place to be. If we don't do something about it now, it will be gone for good, if it isn't already.

Not That Resolution Again!

Hello, Yes I know, with the new year, comes that resolution to lose weight and get in shape once again! About a year and a half ago, I started making some changes in my diet and started walking. I thought I would share with you what has worked for me, if you have chosen this resolution. I have been able to go from a size 14/16 to a size 8/10. I hope this year I get down to get a size 6/8. I usually walk 5 times a week for 30 minutes, but occasionally I don't get in the full five days, but even if I only do three days a week, it still keeps me from gaining the weight back. It is hard to start, but once you do, it get's easier and easier. I feel guilty now if I don't walk. I enjoy the time to myself as well, I watch music videos while I walk because the visual of the music usually keeps me entertained and before I know it I have gotten so into the music videos, that my time is up for my walk. I love it when that happens! I can't afford one of those Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig programs either, so I just used some of my common sense and followed some advice I found along the way and put together what has worked for me. I also drink plenty of water during the day and when I need a kick before I start walking I drink Ice Tea for the Caffeine and that way I avoid coffee with the cream. I hope that maybe I have shared something you didn't think of and it helps you too.

I have never been a breakfast person, but now I am starting to eat it
because they say it does kick up your metabolism. I have been eating
the instant Quaker Oats and it does seem to keep me fuller during the
morning, it has slow digesting carbs, so you don't crash like you
would on other sugary breakfast items. The best part is if you use
water to make it it has only 150 calories. I love the feeling I get
too when I eat it on a cold New England Morning. If you don't have
time for a sit down breakfast, There are lots of protein drinks
and bars. But I would suggest mixing it up with and egg once in
a while. I know eggs are good for you one day and then not so much
the other, but I believe anything in moderation is ok. So for a quick
breakfast with protein, and only about 77 calories, I suggest boiling
up a couple of eggs the night before your busy week and keep them
in your fridge, then you can just grab one, warm it up if you prefer
it that way in the micro on a low setting and your good to go!

I usually have a grilled chicken salad everyday for lunch,
I don't know why, but I never seem to get sick of having
it, I think I'm addicted to them. I have a half a pita with
it too. It keeps me full for the afternoon and I think the
protein from the Chicken helps give me energy to do my
afternoon walk. Once in a while I'll change my lunch up
with these low calorie SmartOnes by Weight Watchers. The
Three Cheese Mariana is really good, it's definitively my
favorite and Progresso Soups are good too

Dinner: I cook dinner every night for my two guys, who are
basically meat eaters, so I try to buy lean meats cause
I don't usually make anything special for myself. I usually
will just eat smaller portions of what I make them. But if
I make them something really high in calories or something I
don't like, I will usually have another salad or just some
pasta with sauce. I also keep a bag of frozen shrimp in the
freezer and sometimes a bag of frozen scallops (I only get
frozen scallops if I get them on sale at the Hilltop, a local
Butcher Shop, they are getting so expensive!) And I'll whip
up a low calorie dinner with one of them, usually scampi,
with lot's of garlic, yum, yum, I am Italian after all!

Snacking at night while watching TV can be a bad habit,
but it all depends of course with what your snacking on.
This past year I started snacking on Grapes while
watching TV because they only have about 3 calories
a piece, awesome huh, you can fill up easily on 10
or 15 big ones and you have only taken in about 30
or 45 calories!! For something crunchy these chips
are so good, the Sea Salt are my favorite and they
are starting to come out with lots of other flavors.
I love that I have been able to snack at night w/o
putting back on any of the weight I have walked off :)

Condiments I use to avoid adding Calories:
This and the regular butter flavor are good on a baked
potato, or on toast, you can even cook with it, the best
part is it is 0 calories! And if your not to thrilled
with the taste you can add something else like bacon bits
on a baked potato and light jam or reduced calorie peanut
butter on the toast

Ken's has the best tasting light dressings and I have
tried a lot of them. The store brands may save you a
little money, but it's not worth it, they taste watery

Using this in your coffee or whatever you drink or eat
can keep you from gaining up to 10 pounds in a year.

Observations And What Not Of 2011

What surprised me about the Divorce is
that it took 72 days to happen, and he
wasn't the one who filed first!! This
guy IMO, was obviously whipped, I think
eventually he would have snapped out of
it and ran far, far away from her and her
family, if they are the way they are on TV
imagine how worse they must be when the
Camera's are off, it's got to be to
overbearing for anyone!

But then again "nothing compares" to the
length of Sinead's wedded bliss in 2011!

Today I wanted to share this Video I made to say Welcome Home to the troops that fought so bravely over the past 9 years for peace and freedom in Iraq. No matter what our views are on the war, they don't really matter now, because what's done is done. The Iraqi people still have many challenges ahead of them, but you cannot deny that they are in a better place today, especially the Women and Children, thanks to all of the soldiers. So Welcome Home troops, job well done IMO, Thank you for serving our Country. Hopefully this coming year, more countries will be on board the "Peace Train" as well!

Comfortable Transformations

Consider yourself lucky if you do get a soul mate in life that you truly need. I know now that I was lucky enough to get a true soul mate who did all of these things for me and then some.

If Roses Grow

Hello, I came across this saying a friend posted in memory of her mother at Christmas and had to share it with all of you. I edited it for both of my Parents. This time of year is, at times, still hard for me, as I am sure it is for all of you who have lost loved ones. It has been 3 yrs since my mother passed, and although I have come to accept it, and the pain has eased, sometimes I think my grief is still a bit on the surface and it comes upon me when I least expect it. The obvious reason is the loss of traditions and norms that you share with your loved ones for so many years, and then like that, they're gone. I've learned that loss can be on many levels. I remember my Mother always looking so forward to our Holiday family gatherings. Even though in her elderly years she lived on small means with her disability check, she still managed to always have something to give her 6 children and 10 grandchildren. She always had my sister take her to do her Christmas shopping because they were one in the same, they could shop for hours and look for the bargains, not me! She would always buy a new sweater or blouse to wear on Christmas day and show me ahead of time. She would then go out and get her hair done. And until now I never realized how much I would miss the way she prepared for the Holidays. How I miss that she was really showing us how much it meant to her to just be with all of her grown children and grandchildren, because even though she saw us all throughout the year, it was not that often that we would all be together. My Father left us to early, I was only 23 when he passed, but I remember he always provided all six of his children with a great Christmas, many special memories as well. How I miss their sweet souls, miss them oh so much. So yes, Lord, this Christmas place some roses in my Mother and Father's arms and tell them they're from me, and whisper in their ear that I was so blessed they were here for me.

Mix The Bourgeoisie And The Rebels

Hello, Happy Music Monday! I am excited that Madonna will be doing the half time show at this years Superbowl. Hopefully I will also be watching my favorite football team The Patriots as well. I will get to watch the Patriots live on Christmas Eve because Christa and Dana got Pete and I tickets to the game that day as a Christmas gift, Love it! I have seen Madonna live 3 times and she is amazing. So I'm sure the half time show is going to be, especially with the help of the Cirque du Soleil performers. She can sing live while doing deep knee bends, oh ya, in her late 40's and early 50's, never mind just dance! Brittany and most of the girls half her age have to lip sync while they perform. So for this Music Monday I chose her Music performance from the Drowned World Tour to celebrate her upcoming Super Bowl performance. I still have the confetti she dropped at the end of this song, along with the ticket as a memento from the show :) She has earned the title of Queen in my opinion. Imagine how boring Pop Music would have been the past 28 years without her. I'm glad she has pushed the envelope and opened doors for women where no one else had the courage to do so. That is what I admire the most about her. I hope she keeps going as long as she can and may her music continue to mix the bourgeoisie and the rebels!

Hello, Happy Friday! My grandchildren, Briana and Christopher went to a Christmas party on my son in laws side of the family last weekend. Their Aunt Sarah took these pictures, and as always she shares them with me when I am not there. I think she did a great job because she caught the wonder and magic of Briana's expression as Santa walked in the room surprising all the kids! Poor Christopher though, he was so scared of Santa, he just shook the whole time, so needless to say he didn't last to long on his lap! I thought this video below captures perfectly what some kids go through when they have to approach this big, Mysterious Man named Santa. I mean think about it, we tell them that he has been watching them to see whether or not they have been good or bad, so what if they feel they have been bad, then they have to face him, Yikes! But no, I'm sure it doesn't add to their anxiety, no not at all LOL!

Hello, Watching the news today literally made my stomach sick. Jerry Sandusky was arrested for a second time on allegations of sexual abuse, just as one of his victims spoke out about his screams for help from this monsters basement that went unheard. Then they broke the news that Ryan Brunn was arrested for the murder and sexual assault of this precious little 7 yr old girl named Jorelys. Jorleys was abducted from her own playground at her apartment building while her babysitter ran in to the building for one minute to get her coat. Her mother worked nights and had to sleep for a little while during the day. It makes me so sick that these men, (or monsters as I view them, because they just can't really be a human being in the sense that I know human beings,) can torture an innocent child the way they do. There is no way that I will ever be able to wrap my mind around this sickness Pedophilia, and as an advocate for the mentally ill, I'm able to wrap my mind around a lot. I know 99 percent of you feel the same. This is something I think we can only pray away, because it is an evil beyond us, no doubt about it. So tonight I light a virtual candle in memory of this Little Angel and for all the innocent children who have been victims of these monsters.

Hello, Happy Saturday! Everyday it seems like Cable is offering us a new Reality TV show, in which we usually have no choice but to pay for. I know we have the choice not to watch these shows too, and trust me I don't, but what is left for us who don't really care for Reality TV. Not much. I've gotten use to American Pickers, Pawn Stars, but there is no way I'm going to ever tune into Hairy Bikers, Swamp People, Big Shrimpin, thanks, but no thanks History Channel. Now TLC, that already has IMO, the disgusting show "Sister Wives", has decided to add a show all about Virgins, called the "Virgin Diaries"! I mean really, do we need this much reality in our lives? Is there an audience out there that needs to know the plight of Virgins? I do not mean to be disrespectful of their life choices, I truly believe in to each it's own, whatever works for you, makes you happy, yada, yada, yada, you get what I mean LOL! It's just I feel that Reality TV is taking over the airwaves more and more and allowing a just about anything goes type mentally from the programming executives, for example MTV went from good music videos to Jersey Shore? What kind of entertainment is that? Reality TV is taking away one of the pleasures I have in life, watching good TV. I think it just sucks, and as you can tell, it's getting on my nerves! Even though my bitching about the Reality TV shows will not change a thing, it feels good to vent about it! And I'm grateful for the few good shows on like Son's of Anarchy and Boardwalk Empire, The Good Wife! Virgins, Practice Makes Perfect, Good luck with that TLC!

Hello, It was a week of endings. Once again for Demi, the end of a marriage. No charm for her on number 3! I feel bad for Demi, but not because she got cheated on, which is terrible, don't get me wrong, but that she really believed he would stay faithful to her forever, living in the world that they do, but then again when your in love you want to believe. A really good looking rich guy is going to always have women throwing themselves at him, and in time somethings going to give. I think he kind of looks like a snake in the grass too, not a trustworthy person. I have been watching the new Two And A Half men and I just can't get used to Aston's character replacing Charlie. It's just not as funny to me anymore and I think a lot of people feel the same way. I wonder if that will last for him too. We saw the end of a legend on Morning Tv. I found myself tearing up a little at all the goodbye moments. Regis is nothing but lovable. He will be missed becasue there are just not many men like him left. And maybe we will see the end of Robert Wagner's freedom?? The re-opening of this case has me intrigued, nothing like a real life Murder Mystery. Make Ahead Thanksgiving Recipes

Hello my friends, Every year for Christmas my sister gives me a subscription to the Real Simple Magazine and I love it. My favorite part of the magazine is the recipes. They offer both traditional recipes and new ones to help change up some of the usual eats. I enjoy cooking so much more when the weather turns cool here in New England, especially on a Sunday, when everyone is home and the football game is on, the fire is crackling, I'll usually cook a Roast or some type of big dinner. And of course something sweet like Toll House cookies, ahhh yes, the comforts of home sweet home! So I thought today I would share some of the make ahead recipes that I am going to try this year. Rosemary Pecans

Make-ahead tip: The pecans can be prepared and stored at room temperature in an airtight container up to 1 week in advance.
Serves 8| Hands-On Time: 10m | Total Time: 20m

Ingredients
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 cups pecan halves
2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
Directions
Heat oven to 375° F. Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, cayenne pepper, and ½ teaspoon salt. Add the pecans and toss to coat.
Transfer the pecans to a rimmed baking sheet and arrange in a single layer. Bake, stirring occasionally, until toasted, 10 to 12 minutes.
Add the rosemary and toss to combine. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Cider-Roasted Vegetables

Make-ahead tip: The vegetables can be roasted and kept at room temperature up to 2 hours in advance or refrigerated up to 1 day in advance. Reheat from room temperature at 350° F to
400° F.
Serves 8| Hands-On Time: 15m | Total Time: 1hr 15m

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds beets (1 bunch), peeled and cut into wedges
1 1/2 pounds parsnips, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks
1 1/2 pounds baby carrots, peeled (or 1 1/2 pounds carrots cut into 2-inch chunks)
4 tablespoons brown sugar
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 pound shiitake or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and stemmed
Directions
Heat oven to 450° F. Place the vegetables in two small roasting pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, oil, and vinegar. Pour over the vegetables and toss to coat well.
Cook until tender, about 1 hour, stirring halfway. Add the mushrooms during the last 10 minutes, toss to coat well, and finish roasting. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.

Gingersnap-Pear Cheesecake

Make-ahead tip: The pie can be prepared and refrigerated, loosely covered with plastic wrap, up to 2 days in advance.
Serves 8-12| Total Time: 30m

Ingredients
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups crushed gingersnaps (about 40 cookies)
2 small ripe pears (any kind), peeled, cored, and sliced 1/8 inch thick
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream, at room temperature
Directions
Heat oven to 350° F.
In a medium bowl, combine the butter and crushed gingersnaps. Press the mixture into a 9-inch springform pan, working the crumbs over the bottom and then up the sides. Bake for 20 minutes.
In a small bowl, toss the pears and ginger. Line the cooled crust with the pears, overlapping the slices slightly. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer on medium, beat the cream cheese for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup of the sugar and beat for 2 minutes. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, and mix until combined. Stir in 2 teaspoons of the vanilla. Pour the mixture over the pears. Bake until the top is barely set but still slightly wobbly, about 50 minutes. Transfer pan to a wire rack but leave oven on.
In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and the remaining sugar and vanilla. Pour over the cheesecake and bake for 8 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Hello, I hope your doing well. After following the trial of Michael Jackson's Doctor the past few weeks I thought today when the verdict came in of Guilty I would feel some sense of Justice for Michael and his family. Instead it just feels so tragic. Tragic for Jacksons, Tragic for Conrad Murray and his family. Then tonight as I listened to all the commentators on TV speak about the fact that there are more people to blame, like AEG, other Doctors, I couldn't help but think that they forgot some other people to blame, and that is us, or at least everyone who turned their backs on Michael. We as a society build up these stars, and so quickly bring them down when issues arise, like they did with Michael. We don't like it when someone doesn't conform to our normal. Michael was so hurt by this world that he did things (drugs included) to help him survive. So IMO, when the opportunity to make a come back with the "This Is It" tour came about, it brought on even more pressure than previous tours. The pressure stemming from the desire of wanting that love and acceptance again that he had as a child, starting anew with the doubters of his innocence and peers, and just being able to put the past behind him. I'm sensitive to that about people because I know how it is to have people turn on you when you hit rock bottom. And of course, it is just natural for anyone, superstar or not, to want and deserve that second chance in life. Sadly he never got his second chance. With all the pressure, it led him to Dr. Conrad Murray and the use of Propofol for a good nights sleep, and thus his demise. I think his death should not be in vain and that we should learn more from it than the obvious. We should learn to be more accepting of different. Learn to reach out to that isolated person who may be suffering, may have hit rock bottom, no matter what others think. I hope now his family and fans can begin to heal and reflect only on his greatness and humanity and not his tragic ending.

Hello, I hope your enjoying your weekend. This week it seemed the news was filled with Celebrities and their oh so dramatic lives! I just feel like putting my own spin on things, and sharing my views on certain things. As I'm writing my spin, I kinda feel like a Perez Hilton, and although it may not be nice, it is kinda fun LOL! The only one in the news this week that deserves some praise is David Walgren. Now that the Doctor Conrad Murray trial is coming to an end, I feel he did his very best to get Justice for Michael Jackson and his children. He is the best Prosecutor I've seen in a long time, I can say that because I usually follow trials everyday on Court TV and HLN while I'm home during the day and you can tell who has "it" to reach the jury and who doesn't. Anyhow I hope you enjoy my points of view!

I am so sick of hearing about the Kardashians, Poor Kim is moaning to friends: I'm So Distraught, I Can't Function, Bullshit, it didn't seem to me that she had any problem hopping on that plane to Australia to promote her handbags! Then when she thought the camera's were off her she was only concerned about if she looked fat in her dress! Yes Kim, from what I saw of you in the dress, you did look a little chunky in one area, talk about Junk in the Trunk! I'll never get why that is hot, growing up I was always taught a fat ass was a bad thing. Then after hearing all about the big divorce drama all week, the mother of this dysfunctional family Kris Jenner has the nerve to say while out promoting her new book on different shows, that she probably could have saved Nicole Brown! I think that is BS too, she would have done nothing to help Nicole. Nicole reached out to her the day before she was murdered and she was too busy, put her off for another day. Kris was married to O.J.'s friend and later his defense attorney Robert Kardasian. So she probably would have wanted to stay out of it to keep peace with her husband, and someone like O.J. who was a person of power and influence at the time. Because even now when asked on the Joy Behar show if she thought O.J. was guilty of Murdering Nicole, she answered "Yes and No", you'll have to read my book to understand why I came to that conclusion", come again Kris, what, your still afraid to speak out against O.J. and your using Nicole's tragedy to help sell your book?? I would like to start my own reality show called "Shutting Up The Kardashians", anyone with me?

Kelly looks so skinny I just want to feed her a hamburger through the set. When Regis leaves the show, I don't think it will last too long, unless they get another good co host. I mean, is it just me, or does her personality sometimes get a little annoying?? And Regis always offers so much to talk about with his life, going here, meeting with so and so. I just don't see what she has to offer on her own besides talking about her family life, (which can get a little dull) and interviewing people? But that is just my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong, only time will tell.

Every Step Is Forward

Hello, I hope your doing well today. This article from the OM Times helped give me a different perspective on my life's situation right now. I have been "feeling stuck in the mud" as it says, trying to find a job. One day things look bright, and an opportunity to work looks like it is going to come through. My hopes get up, that Yes, I can finally get back on track and have that career that I went to college for, have a sense of independence, and contribute to the care of my family. Then it doesn't come through, and it gets more disappointing each time. I'm starting to get scared that I may never get back out there, and I know I'm not alone in feeling that way. It's so tough out there that I have started going to a career center, doing their workshops to sharpen my skills. I'm also working with an employment agency. And with all that, it's almost proving futile, because the last job I applied for had 12 open positions with 885 applications! But maybe, just maybe! these steps forward that I have been taking will lead to where I'm meant to be. I have to have faith in that. If your feeling "stuck" in some aspect of your life, I hope this helps give you a different perspective on your situation as well.

Every Step Is Forward

There are times when we feel that we are spinning our wheels in the mud in terms of our progress. This can be especially true following a period of major growth in which we feel as if we’ve gained a lot of ground. In fact, this is the way growth goes—periods of intense forward movement give way to periods of what seems like stagnation. In those moments when we feel discouraged, it’s helpful to remember that we don’t ever really go backward. It may be that we are at a standstill because there is a new obstacle in our paths, or a new layer to get through, but the hard work we have done cannot be undone.

Every step on the path is meaningful, and even one that seems to take us backward is a forward step in the sense that it is what we must do to move to the next level. In addition, an intense growth spurt requires that we rest for a time in order to fully integrate the new energies that have been liberated by our hard work. When we feel we are not making progress, we can encourage ourselves to take a moment to rest. We can meditate more, feed ourselves well, and get extra sleep. Before we know it, we will be spurred on to work toward the next level of our development, and this rest will make sense then as something we needed in order to continue.

Once the sun rises, it doesn’t go backward but instead follows its path in one direction. It may appear to stand still for a moment in time, or to move more slowly at some point or another, but really it is steadily moving forward on its path. We are the same way, and once we have moved through something we can never really go back. We may be resting or revisiting issues that seem old, and it’s natural to feel stuck, but in truth we are always taking the next important step forward on our path.

Hello, Sadly this week we learned that Amy Winehouse died from Alcohol Poisoning. She had 5 times the legal limit in her system. Steve wrote this song about a singer he knew that got lost in her addiction, much like Amy, much like many people do. In memory of Amy I chose this song for Music Monday.

Hello, I hope your doing well today. This article written by Jodi Chapman is a good read because it is exactly how so many of us live our lives. I feel we all grow up with that mind set that we need to keep striving for more, for better, which is a good thing, but just how good does it have to be? And when we don't get to that place of "there" that we thought we would, we can become our own worst enemy. We can easily begin to get down on ourselves and on life itself. Learning that "there" is probably "here" can help to end the needless stress we put on ourselves as we try to attain more goals if we need to, and live more in the moment! Have you ever wanted to be there – wherever that was? The only requirement for there is that it is far from here.

There is a place where things just seem to work out. A place you have long dreamed of going to. A place where the puzzle pieces of your life somehow fit together.

There is a place where faith rules over fear. A place where positivity and gratitude are far more powerful than negativity and anxiety.

Do you ever find yourself wanting to escape your current surroundings – dreaming more than anything that you could go from here to there? Do you ever feel that you can’t possibly wait any longer – that you have given all you can here – that the thought of continuing to put one foot in front of the other without the promise of ever being there is just more than you can handle?

Have you ever stopped to think that you may already be there?

Is it possible that your version of there and your soul’s version may not be the same? Your soul always knows that you are in the perfect situation each and every moment. You are learning and growing, and even though you aren’t comfortable and are yearning for something different, this is where you need to be for now. You are and have always been there.

I know that this may not be what any of us wants to hear, but it’s a powerful message. If we are already there, and we know we are there, we can begin to align our ego with our soul. We can get on board in knowing that our life is absolutely perfect exactly as it is.

And this doesn’t mean that we can’t strive to reach our dreams or allow ourselves to want something different, but it does mean that we can allow ourselves to be happy and content right where we are in this moment. If we can get to this place (which I’m still working on), it’s such a wonderful way to live – no longer struggling to be somewhere we simply aren’t.

We are already there – right where we need to be.

48 Yrs Of Traveling

Hello Everyone, I hope your doing well. I'm doing pretty good :) Today as I turn 48 yrs young, yes young, I refuse to use the awful "old" word, I have been doing a little reflecting, you know, thinking about my whole life so far. I'm sure most of you do that too from time to time. And as I have reflected, I can honestly say, I'm happy with all of it. It has not always been an easy life, but easy doesn't make you grow. The obstacles and challenges have only made me a better person. I'm now at peace with the past and I've learned to stop looking in the rear view mirror, because all that really does is make you crash. I have truly forgiven myself for all the times I've traveled down the wrong road. And oh how those roads seemed to have countless bumps, twists and turns (trust me when I tell you that LOL!) Sometimes those roads also had big red flags and signs that I was somehow blinded to. But for the grace of someone looking out for me up there and an always loving and supportive family, I have been able to pick up the pieces and start over. I have finally dumped a lot of the baggage that I have held onto for way too long, and it feels so good walking around with a lighter load. With all this progress I can now, with a clearer heart and mind, chose the right roads, see the signs. I know my best years are right here, right now and I look forward to what's ahead for me. Hopefully I will have another 48 yrs to keep traveling down this wonderful, beautiful road of life. I made this video with a song that I love. It's a spiritual song about life's journey. I hope it inspires you the way it inspires me.

Hello, I hope all of you are doing well today, I am doing good. Recently I came across a great website on Buddhism in which I found this beautiful poem. I have always found myself connecting to, or as they say, enlightened by their teachings. It is more of a spiritual practice IMO, you may perceive it differently. It teaches you tools to live your life, and teaches basic humanity 101. As I come to understand it better myself, I will try to simplify it and share what I learn. I have already shared the basic root of their teachings with my loving kindness meditation posts. I feel this poem is teaching us the healthy tools in life we need to help balance our emotions through the difficult times.

My Declaration of Self-Esteem

Hello, I hope your doing good today. I love this declaration by Virginia. Especially the part that I put in quotations and bold print in the last paragraph. At any given point and time, we can and "should" (even though I hate that word should!) take a personal inventory of ourselves. Trust what we see and have the courage to change what we know is not our personal best without losing our self worth. That is exactly what I have been doing this past year. As my head was clearing up, I reviewed my past actions and I didn't like what I saw about myself. I often heard myself saying "Janet what the hell were you thinking", and "why did you do those things you did!" And the answers were, I wasn't, and Alcohol. Alcohol gave me a false sense of self worth, and a false sense of what was going on around me in my life. It altered my mind, body and spirit. Realizing that was a starting point to work on my other shortcomings. Don't be afraid to look at yourself every now and then, you may just make a new declaration for yourself!

Hello, I hope your all doing good today. Having Sociology as a Major in College was perfect for me because I have always loved observing human behavior and how we interact in society. One aspect of human behavior that has intrigued me is how "conditioned" we are. We are truly shaped as a person depending on where we grow up and with whom we grow up with, our Parents, our School, Friends, Religious Affiliate etc. So how do we ever really get to know who we are? How do we ever learn to think and feel for ourselves. I can't help but wonder if we really ever do? I think we just learn to go along with the norm around us. This is part of an article by Russell Bishop that gives an insight to our thinking and reactions. He offers some steps for us to be more aware of our daily circumstances and how we respond to them. Are you thinking or merely reacting as you go through life's challenges these days? I mean, really thinking, not just mindlessly or emotionally reacting to the stuff happening to you? If you find yourself judging, condemning, complaining or blaming then you can pretty much be assured that you're in reaction mode. While normal enough, these emotional reactions inhibit conscious choice and block your ability to create any kind of useful response to what bedevils you.

A passage from Russell's friend John Roger's book "The Power Within You"

"Thinking is not a natural process of the human consciousness. You may say, "Sure it is. Everybody thinks." I have news for you: very few people think. Most people react and then pass that off as thinking. Thinking is the cause of things. Reaction is the effect!"

It's Time to WAKE UP

While this may not be your sequence of thought, much less a perfect sequence, it may become your own version of the alarm clock. Rather than hit the snooze button, use these "alarms" to help you examine any issue with which you may find yourself struggling during the day:

1. What just happened
2. Assess the situation and accept the obvious
3. Consider options available
4. Take the best course of action you have available
5. Observe how its working
6. Repeat until you are satisfied with the outcome

These may seem like simple questions of observation, assessment and making choices. However, most people don't observe as much as they react to what they see.

How often are you actually thinking, and how often are you reacting? You are probably reacting about 90 percent of the time. For the most part, you are reacting either to your previous reactions or to someone else's reactions. It's a long chain of effect and effect and effect. It's like dominos: you hit one and they all go.

So, what's happening in your life or more to the point, what has happened to you over the past months or years? What aspects of your life would you like to improve? If you lost your job, house, car, family or something even worse, you are likely to have experienced any number of emotions from hurt, anger and grief, to blame, complain and a sense of helplessness. However, as understandable as these reactions are, they won't help you dig out and rebuild.

Sandra L. Gawlik, who works at a cafe near the Needham Center Station, was walking on the platform trying to light her cigarette when she failed to see that a train was coming into the station, police said.

Hi Everyone, Happy Friday! Sex Appeal, Action and Hits, just three reason why My Harley riding hubby and I are lovin this series Sons of Anarchy! We have started watching the first three seasons on instant download with our Netflix subscription. By the end of this Labor Day weekend we should be all caught up and ready for season 4 to begin on Tuesday!! This past week has been pretty funny, all of a sudden I noticed for the first time in a long time, as we sit and watch, we barley speak a word to each other, I'm like hello, you over there at the other end of the couch, remember me? That doesn't happen often, so ya it's that good. You need some of this in your life (vicariously of course!) to help escape the doldrums of daily life, trust me, you do LOL! I highly recommend you go out and rent the DVD's or get Netflix and catch up! It will be so worth your time and money!!

Hello, I came across this book by Kristin Neff on Self Compassion that I plan on buying. It is one area in my life that I need to constantly work at. I'm sure there are a few of you out there too, who know exactly what I'm talking about! It is so easy for most of us to our own worst judge. Yet, if it was a friend who did what we are beating ourselves up for, we would usually be the first to say, don't worry about it, let it go, just learn from it and forgive yourself! We have never been "conditioned" to do that for ourselves. Learning to practice self compassion, I believe now more than ever, is key to a healthier state of being.

So what is self-compassion? What does it mean exactly?

As I’ve defined it, self-compassion entails three core components. First, it requires self-kindness, that we be gentle and understanding with ourselves rather than harshly critical and judgmental. Second, it requires recognition of our common humanity, feeling connected with others in the experience of life rather than feeling isolated and alienated by our suffering. Third, it requires mindfulness—that we hold our experience in balanced awareness, rather than ignoring our pain or exaggerating it. We must achieve and combine these three essential elements in order to be truly self-compassionate. This means that unlike self-esteem, the good feelings of self-compassion do not depend on being special and above average, or on meeting ideal goals. Instead, they come from caring about ourselves—fragile and imperfect yet magnificent as we are. Rather than pitting ourselves against other people in an endless comparison game, we embrace what we share with others and feel more connected and whole in the process. And the good feelings of self-compassion don’t go away when we mess up or things go wrong. In fact, self-compassion steps in precisely where self-esteem lets us down—whenever we fail or feel inadequate. Research suggests that self-compassion provides an island of calm, a refuge from the stormy seas of endless positive and negative self-judgment, so that we can finally stop asking, “Am I as good as they are? Am I good enough?” By tapping into our inner wellsprings of kindness, acknowledging the shared nature of our imperfect human condition, we can start to feel more secure, accepted, and alive. Hello, Happy Music Monday! I'm so glad to be able to join in today as I just got my power back on. Irene left us without power for almost 24 hours. We were lucky enough to have a generator to run our DVD player. When the guys went to bed I put on "This Is It" and once again escaped in the magic of Micheal's music. At the end of the movie this time, I did not feel as sad about his passing as I did last year when I watched it, even though it is still such a tragedy. I felt how lucky we all are that he was here in the first place. I thought about what a lifetime of great music he made that demonstrated, fun, love, peace, and humanitarian causes that will live on forever. So I decided to share his magic with all of you today,

National Go Topless Day” to honor Women’s Equality Day. The annual protest is held in 7 US cities to promote the idea that women have the same constitutional right to be bare chested in public places as men. Go Topless was founded in 2007 by French guru Rael, leader of the Raelien movement.

As much as I love having my grandchildren for sleepovers, for some reason as soon as they get to Mimi's house the idea of it being a "sleep" over has turned into a "stay up all night" or "let's sleep in shifts, so one of us is awake all night" over! I think the reason for that is, no matter how many times I tell them it isn't so, they continue to believe it is a matter of time before the clowns and ponies show up!! So needless to say I may just have to get a copy of this book! Hello, I would have to agree with Samuel's words of wisdom. This past year has been all about re-discovering myself. And as I have taken the time to rediscover myself, I have grown more and more comfortable in my own skin. I love the feeling because it is not from a place of conceitedness. It is from a place of gratitude. I'm so grateful for having another chance to live my life in a much better way than I was. Failures and mistakes don't need to be feared as we have been conditioned to think. Accept them for what they are and move on. Once you do that, you never what you will discover about yourself.

A Laugh Or Two

Hi Everyone, Happy Saturday! I have started watching or (DVR-ing I should say, I can't stay up that late anymore!) Jimmy Fallon's late night show and I'm still trying to decide if I really like the show. Some of the skits are funny and some, not so much, but I really like him so I'll keep watching to see if it grows on me! I liked this ecard skit, I think you might too. And as I end this post I should cover myself by saying that Arnolds love child is really not crappy, it just fits in with the joke! I wouldn't want to get in trouble like that Boston blog that posted something about another celebrity's kid, (Tom Brady). I did check out that blog, out of curiosity, and all in all it is disgusting. I hate that he is getting all this attention even if it is bad attention! But such is life. Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy a laugh or two.

A Nobodys Nuptials

Hi Everyone, I hope your doing well. I was watching T.V. tonight when I heard about Kim Kardashian's upcoming nuptials, which is expected to cost about $20 MILLION DOLLARS! I of course know of her, like all of you, but I have never watched her show's with her family because I could care less about celebrity lives. After what I heard tonight I am disgusted by the fact that she is, along with all the sponsors, wasting so much money on one day! So I decided to look up what she was all about anyway? What is the big deal about her getting married? Here is what I found out:

According to Wikipedia Kim Kardashian (born October 21, 1980) is an American socialite, television personality, model, and actress. Daughter of Robert Kardashian who defended O.J.!! Sure ok, but I still don't why she get's so much publicity. Then I checked out Yahoo answers. The most popular answer to my question is "cause she was best friends with Paris Hilton for a while, but what really got it going for her was the famous sex tape she made with Ray J." Oh, I thought to myself, I get it now, she is famous for nothing! No talent on her part. I mean really, anyone can make a sex tape LOL! (Well, then again, maybe some people shouldn't!) Her Daddy was famous for helping get a double murderer off, and then Paris Hilton decided that was a good enough reason to let her be her friend. Wow, and people feed into this sham of a "reality" person by buying her clothes and perfume and watching all her shows, how sick is that! Society has really got to stop enabling theses losers to live like Kings and Queens for no good reason. She has not earned this, if she did I would be happy for her. This material marriage is going to be a two hour special on E! as well, I can only hope she trips walking up the isle, now that would be entertainment for me! That may sound mean, but hey, it's how I really feel. I hope they do have a moment of thoughtfulness for the less fortunate and send some of the leftover 200,000 dollar cake to the kids in Somali.

Heal With Hurt

Hi Everyone, I hope your doing well. I am doing great. My blogger friend Maitri , (who's blog is beautiful and inspiring, please take some time to visit it!), shared this link from OM times ezine today on Facebook. It really hit home with me, because I have truly lived this by taking part in support groups. This article summed up, reminds me of the saying that "Sometimes the Less Broken have to fix the More Broken" Simple way of saying that we are all broken, in one way or another, from our own life experiences. Once we accept that we have been hurt or broken, we can choose to get stuck in it (victim role) or let it go, and grow. If we grow, we can use the hurt as a tool. A tool to truly help others with "pure and true" empathy and compassion. What better gifts are there to give to a fellow human being who is suffering? None, absoulutley none.

You can channel your pain into helping
others and spreading a tide of curative

Pain is a fact of being and one that permeates all of our lives to some degree. Since the hurt we feel may be a part of the experiences that have touched us most deeply, we are often loathe to let it go. It is frequently easier to keep our pain at our sides, where it acts as a shield that shelters us from others and gives us an identity—that of victim—from which we can draw bitter strength. However, pain’s universality can also empower us to use our hurt to help others heal. Since no pain is any greater or more profound than any other, what you feel can give you the ability to help bring about the recovery of individuals whose hurts are both similar to and vastly different from your own. You can channel your pain into transformative and healing love that aids you in helping individuals on a one-to-one basis and spreading a tide of curative energy throughout the world.

The capacity to heal others evolves naturally within those who are ready to disassociate themselves from their identity as victims. In fact, the simple decision to put aside the pain we have carried is what grants us the strength to redeem that pain through service. There are many ways to use the hurt you feel to help others. Your pain gives you a unique insight into the minds of people who have experienced trauma and heartache. You can draw from the wellspring of strength that allowed you to emerge on the other side of a painful experience and pass that strength to individuals still suffering from their wounds. You may be able to council individuals in need by showing them the coping methods that have helped you survive or simply by offering sympathy. A kinship can develop that allows you to relate more closely with those you are trying to aid and comfort.

Helping others can be a restorative experience that makes your own heart grow stronger. In channeling your pain into compassionate service and watching others successfully recover, you may feel a sense of euphoria that leads to increased feelings of self-worth and optimism. Your courageous decision to reach out to others can be the best way to declare to yourself and the world that your pain didn’t defeat you, and in fact it helped you heal.

Worst Humanitarian Crises In Decades

Hello, I have been following the plight of these poor families in Somalia on World News with Diane Sawyer the past two evenings. I can't help but cry a little when I watch a mother endure such an unimaginable, pain filled walk to feed her child. Her strength to keep walking is found in the hope of her child having a future, a future in a place that most of us would give up and give in to despair. This in itself is proof of the amazing depth and instinct of a mother's love. But for the "Grace Of God" there go you and I to feed our children and ourselves. If you can help with less than 1 dollar a day, please do so. That less than 1 dollar a day will mean the difference between life and death for these children. The Pillsbury Dough Boy died yesterday of a yeast infection & traumatic complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 71. Dough Boy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children, John Dough, Jane Dough, and Dill Dough, plus they had 1 in the Oven. Services were held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes

Hi Everyone, Here are some laughs for you this Saturday. My Nephew Robert Hakala of 95.9 FM WATD, a local radio show here in Ma, got to interview Steve Carell for a second time yesterday in Marshfield Ma :) I believe Steve does live in Marshfield Ma and he is a great, down to earth guy, there is no big Hollywood Ego with him. He is part owner or full owner of the local store called Marshfield Hill, I'm not sure which it is. Anyhow he drives to the store for the day in his Toyota, nothing fancy and helps his sister in law by stocking about 40 cases of Snapple for her LOL! For being such a nice guy and always being so gracious with my Nephew Rob, I chose some funny scenes from his movies for my funny videos this week :)

When your feeling frustrated or hopeless about your own life, take a minute and think of this young women's courage she had to find to survive each and every day for 18 years! It may just give you a new perspective, a new sense of strength in your own life.

The kidnapping of Jaycee Lee Dugard occurred on June 10, 1991, when she was 11 years old. Dugard (born May 3, 1980) was abducted from a school bus stop within sight of her home in South Lake Tahoe, California. Searches began immediately after the kidnapping, but no reliable leads were generated. She remained missing for more than 18 years. Dugard was kept in a concealed area behind Garrido's house in Antioch for 18 years. During this time Dugard endured unimaginable abuse and bore two daughters who were aged 11 and 15 at the time of her reappearance.

On June 2, 2011, Philip Garrido was sentenced to 431 years' imprisonment; his wife received 36 years to life

Since she and her daughters were freed from the Garridos in 2009, Dugard has spent the last two years healing, learning to speak up for herself and enjoying firsts: like getting her driver's license, taking her daughters to school, simply having family dinners around a table. With the help of family unification therapist Rebecca Bailey and the Transitioning Families team, Dugard and her daughters have worked hard to free themselves from years of manipulation. The therapy includes a unique horse therapy. Just as important as her healing process, is the healing of her family too—her mother who held hope for 18 years that she'd see Dugard again, her sister who was just a baby when she was abducted.

Portions of the proceeds from Dugard's memoir, A Stolen Life, will go to the JAYC Foundation. The foundation is also selling necklaces with the same pinecone charm that means so much to Dugard. What Is An Evolved Human?

Hi Everyone, I hope your doing well. I love this article by Johanus Haidner. It is similar to Eckart Tolles theory that he writes about in his book "A New Earth". As I have been working on self improvement, in so many areas of my life the past year, I have grown or evolved, and I look forward to growing and evolving even more so, as there is always room for improvement. With a new awareness of myself, I can't help but notice that so many people get "stuck". Stuck in unhealthy relationships with others and without realizing it, unhealthy with themselves. I hope that what I share will help anyone who really needs to evolve and grow :)

What is an Evolved Human?

Is there truly such a thing as a fully evolved human?

A difficult and contentious question. My answer is, "Not yet." But we're working on it!

There are some parameters that are involved. Most people are not truly evolved, event o what our current potential is. Being a more evolved human takes time, emotional and spiritual maturity, not just physical, and a deep awareness of who and what we are. And, of course, the evolved human must have a self awareness and mental maturity that is of the highest order. This is difficult to attain, and is an ongoing quest, because, of course, no matter how evolved one is, there is always room for improvement! We are, after all, only human. And we are continually evolving into better beings and striving to be better people.

The evolved human is able to think beyond purely selfish ends and means. The evolved human is free in thought, if not body and deed. The evolved human is able to understand himself/herself more fully than is understood by most other humans.

The evolved human does not project his or her feelings on others, but accepts those feelings for what they are - and is able to examine these feelings in a higher level of thought, acting appropriately, and is able to spare other humans from his / her projections.

The evolved human is able to transcend greed, vanity, sloth, irascibility (anger), depression, discouragement, envy, pride and extravagance. While this is not without difficulty, the evolved human is aware, or strives to be aware, of the negative effect these behaviors have on himself and the world around him. And that is enough to deter him from these.

The evolved human will not knowingly lie, as even the smallest of lies can cause harm. The evolved human strives for honesty in all things, difficult though it is. For honesty truly is the highest level of thought. This does not mean that the evolved human is too blunt, rude, or does not spare the feelings of others. It means, rather, that the evolved human will be diplomatic in his/her honesty when necessary and avoid outright lies whenever possible.

The evolved human acknowledges his / her humanity and mistakes, striving to correct them whenever possible.

The evolved human realizes that she/he is not alone and understands our need for human contact and companionship. This is part of what makes being human so wonderful!

The evolved human acknowledges all aspects of humanity, including sexuality, spirituality, intellect, emotional, and the physical aspects of our being.

And the evolved human strives to continually evolve. To grow, grow always!

Hi there, I must say somedays the news can just be to close to home, funny and downright wrong! I feel so bad for this poor women who was forced to remove her adult diaper for TSA agents. For some reason I could not help but picture my mother, who was in a wheelchair at the end of her life, in that situation. She would have said, you want my adult diaper, I'll give you my adult diaper, smack right up side the head LOL! Nobody put her in the corner (you know like baby!) She was a spitfire :) Then I couldn't believe they gave air time to these two guys who were so drunk they 1)fell off an escalator after a concert, and 2)got arrested for a 4th drunk driving while driving a golf cart. Hey maybe I could drive around in a go cart or a golf cart, don't think you need a license for those! By the end of the news cast I was laughing my ass off. Not that the TSA story was funny at all, no way, no how. But between picturing my mom putting those TSA agents in their place and watching what was just being praised as the city of Champions last week suddenly turn into a city of drunkenness and mobster's (Whitey Bulger), I had to laugh, Ya that's the Boston I know. Watching the news has become a source of entertainment for me, who knew that would ever happen! Can't wait to tune in tonight to see what comes up next LOL!

Science Proving Life After Death?

Hello, Happy Monday (I guess!) My brother had called me last week to tell me about this series, Through The Wormhole with Morgan Freeman on the Science Channel. I had seen previews for it, but his call got me to watch it. I'm so glad I did. It is a really fascinating series. In the video below you will hear from, (I believe his name is Dr Alexander?) and he taught and performed Neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School for 15 years. In 2008 he slipped into a coma for seven days, trapped inside his virtually brain dead body. A person in a coma often wakes with no memory of anything, no dreams, nothing, remember that as you watch his story. I included both the long and short version so you can choose how much you want to watch of his story. I personally believe the soul of a person lives on. I was convinced of it as well when I went to see a medium last year. My Father who had passed away 23 yrs before came through, he said things to me through the medium, that she could not have known about us personally. It left my husband and his friend, who are pretty much atheist's, believers too. She explained that the Soul or Spirit, when it leaves our physical body, simply moves on to another place or level, and they are often around us. Most of us simply are not in "tune" with their presence. She said she "tunes in" to the spirits and describes it as if she was tuning into a radio station, it's fuzzy at first, but then it becomes clearer and clearer. It is a gift I believe that some people are lucky to have. This program suggests that Science is on the edge of proving Life After Death. Wouldn't that be incredible if they do. So if you watch, let me know, what do you believe?? I'd love to know :)

On This Father's Day

Hi Everyone, In 1987 I had written this poem for my Father as a gift on Father's Day. I could not wait to give it to him. Sadly he passed away on June 3rd that year of a massive heart attach while at work for the Boston Globe, right before Father's Day. So it was read at his funeral. I was a lucky girl to have had him as my Father. 24 years later his little girl still misses him much. My friends use to tell me he looked like Walter Matthau. I kinda think so too. Happy Father's Day to all of you Dad's out there today. If your lucky enough to still have your Dad in your life, don't wait for this day each year to tell him how special he is. Time will slip through your hands and before you know it, he will too.

Changes

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to let you know I'm working on some changes with this blog. It will look different from time to time until I find a new look that I really like. So bear with me! I am also changing the basic idea for my blog. I had started this blog with the premise of it being about Spirituality, doing inspirational posts, etc. And I do still plan to do those types of posts, but I am also going to do posts on many different topics, to change things up a little, a mixed bag so to speak! I have been finding it difficult to just keep finding spiritual subjects, inspirational posts. This will give me more creative freedom as a writer. More freedom to just post about whatever I'm feeling like or thinking about that day. This past year has been all about "Change" for me, change for the better, so it's only natural for this blog to change along with me. Hi Everyone, I have to congratulate the Boston Bruins for bringing home the Stanley Cup after 39 years, I love being a sports fan here in Boston! Our teams have done what no other cities teams have done, 4 championships in 7 years! I can only imagine how my 4 brothers are feeling today. Watching the game last night brought me back to all the fun I had growing up with them and my Dad while we watched all the sports teams here in Boston. Yes Boston your my home!! Way to go Bruins!

Hi Everyone, I hope your doing good today, I am doing better, even though yesterday when I applied at Kohls for a job they told me instantly online that I was not qualified for the position, but Thank you for applying, WTF? I'm a college graduate and I'm not qualified to be a salesperson?? I just had to laugh, it has gotten to that point! What really made me feel better is hearing on the TV yesterday that 24 million people are unemployed or underemployed in the U.S. right now, so even though I am limited with what jobs I can do right now, I am so not alone in feeling the way I do! I knew the number was high, but didn't realize it was that high! I love this quote from Brene Brown's book "The Gifts of Imperfection". I think it is a read I could use right now in my life. It helped to remind me that I am still worthy, imperfections and all. If you have forgotten like me, then I hope it reminds you too.

Hello, Just quick note to say Thank you to my commenters from yesterday. You did help me more than you can know. It just builds up, sitting here every day, the phone ringing with people who want money from me that I don't have. Not being able to hop in the car to escape the four walls that those dam rings echo off of. It builds up when I have to spend a beautiful day like today in a court house explaining to another creditor why I can't pay my bill. Ya "It" builds, by "It" I'm sure you get what I mean, "It" is the disappointment and frustration you feel that this is not how my life was suppose to turn out and all that encompasses. So maybe I'll find the strength to say Thank You for what I am going through (although I find that hard to believe right now LOL!) as it suggests in the poem below and listen, listen really hard for the guidance and courage to keep my dreams and hope from fading away. Hi Everyone, To be honest this is how I feel these days. I don't think my dreams will ever come true. The more I try the more I feel I'm shoveling shit against the tide. I'm not gonna bore you with details, but simply put, not being able to drive limits the jobs I can apply for, so no work means not being able to pay my student loans, which means default, which means no going back to college for a Master's Degree. Not being able to get a job also means I can't help my husband and family out cause now he is running out of work! I am at the point, like many of the unemployed, that I don't even want to bother applying for another job because it will probably be just another rejection, "Thank you for applying, but we have chosen another candidate for this position" So I might as well line up at Welfare, forget about becoming anything in this lifetime. Somedays it is hard to do this blog anymore, I feel so uninspired. I have always loved to inspire others, have hope for the future, but it's hard too give it out to others when you begin to lose it yourself. The only thing that keeps me going these days is my family. What keeps me going on this blog is my commenters. For that I am grateful.

Tribute To Our Troops

Hello Everyone, Happy Memorial Day :) I am grateful to all the men and women who have fought for our freedom. I am especially proud of my Father who served in Korea, he will be in my heart and thoughts even more so today. And my dear Father in Law who turned 85 this month, served in WWII. I am really happy for my Father in law too, he has a new girlfriend that is a sweetheart. I am glad to see him have some companionship since he lost his wife 3 yrs ago. Remember today when you are enjoying your freedom to really appreciate it, it did not come without the ultimate sacrifice from so many.
