Promise Yourself

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all doing well, I am doing good. It has been so good to get back to work at NEV. Shirley, Donna and all my co workers there were so supportive when I had to go through what I did with my mothers. When we work together we often share a few laughs to get through the day. I love working with the disabled although some days can be hard. They need people to treat them with respect as all of us deserve. I know from personal experience when I was younger and my mother was suffering from a mental illness, I will never forget how people treated her. I remember feeling if she had cancer would they look at her that way, or treat her that way! That is why I have so much compassion for the disabled. I now consider that a gift my mother gave to me weather she knew it or not. I found this saying on a inspirational and spiritual website. I liked it alot and thought I would share it with you. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Take Care,
Janet :)

Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best.
To be enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements

of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature
you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have

no time to criticise others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and
too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

  2. Well Janet ~ as it happened, I tried smiling all day today and...........(I've had the best day for ages!!!!!!!!)

Earlier I had met a severely disabled man, a motor-neurone disease victim, who couldn't stop writhing and sagging in his wheel-chair. He and his carer were looking for a space in a crowded open-air cafe. I offered them to come and sit with me and when the carer went to get coffee, I looked at the slumped form (his eyes were closed and he was hanging out of the side of his wheelchair) so I thought I would talk to him. His eyes opened and he straighted up and his speech was perfect. He was very involved with religion and was so intelligent. He kept on sinking away and then pulling back.

His name was Bill. I gave him my email and web addresses and I so hope he contacts me. Seriously he was so alive inside and so in touch.

I learnt a lot the other day at the Solstice at Stonehenge and I hope to keep reaching out. All I got today were smiles and friendship and your post is a wonderful endorsement.
