Write a new story
I hope you are doing well, I am doing good. I know this has happened to me, finding myself feeling worried or anxious over different situations that I feel I should have learned from already. Using the loving kindness meditation stop and ask yourself why do I keep reacting with these feelings. Even though the situations change and our emotions change the same old stories we tell ourselves with past situations and past emotions are repeated in our minds and feelings. The story may be of anxiety and worry. The next time you find yourself in this situation simply choose to meditate informally or formally. As you begin to breath, relax your mind and body. Feel where the tension is in your body. If you feel it in your back or shoulder as you breathe concentrate on that spot and begin to feel the tension slip away. Begin to feel kindness towards yourself even if those old stories of fear and worry persist. Simply say to yourself , "Let me be free of the past" "Let me be free from worry", "Let me be free of fear" Let me feel peace." As you do this you will learn to change the thoughts in your mind towards the situation you are facing and possibly the next time you come across the situation you will not turn back to the old story but the new one of ease, and peace.
