You Learn

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a good July 4th and are all doing well. We had a nice day. Pete drove in the Parade with Scotty and his Dad. Then we had a cookout and later in the night did fireworks. Someone down the street did a firework display that was awesome, just as good as any town would do. So it was great we got to sit in the back yard and not have to travel anywhere. I found another inspirational saying. I think instead of talking about spirituality for a while I will post inspirational sayings that I feel are spiritual. I feel this one says the soul only grows through our toughest times. I feel mine has since the passings of my mothers. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for visiting my blog, Take Care,
Janet :)
After A While
by Veronica Shoftsall
After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul. And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises. And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child. And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans, and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to leave you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure; You really are strong, you really do have worth. And you learn, with every goodbye you learn.

  1. Hello Janet ~ you are getting strong my lady and it shows in your writing (perhaps you always were strong - just coming through a storm)

What a wonderful quote....and the excerpt I'm going to think about today (i have my own inclement weather) is...

"So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to leave you flowers."
