I hope you are doing well. I love this loving kindness meditation, it gave me a new perspective on how to deal with the not so pleasant issues in our lives. We can give ourselves a sense of peace when when we can begin to face life just as it is, no artificially induced highs, not special protections from things going "wrong", just accepting life in all it's raw beauty, challange, pain and joy. The next time you find yourself trying to control the uncontrollable, do this instead. Use the practices of this meditation informally or formally and say to yourself "May this practice help me open to the world as it its, not matter what is happening" The next time you find yourself closing down to the pain or unwanted experiences, try instead to open your heart to the experiences not matter what is happening. Let an expansive, all embracing feeling take root in your heart and open your arms to the pain or discomfort, just as you would to a young child running towards you for an embrace. Simply say to yourself " I accept all aspects of my life's experiences" and you will notice that embracing the bad with the good with loving arms will transform your life.
