When I Miss You

Hello, Today is the 4th Anniversary of my mother's passing. This is a poem I wrote one night while thinking of her. Simply amazing is the power of a mother's love, for it transcends death and lives within us forever.
Thanks for visiting,
Janet :)

When I miss you

When I miss you mom
I turn towards the sun
With the rays on my face
I feel your love and grace

When I miss your hold
I stand still in the wind
and feel the strength of
your soul

When I miss your eyes
I see them in the mirror
through me they are
still alive

When I miss your smile
I look to the night
Each star wishes
they could be so bright

When I miss everything
about you
I stand in the rain
until it washes away
the pain

When I look at what you
left behind
I am so blessed and believe
When our family is gathered
your spirit is with us and
will never leave
Today and forever I will
miss you until together
again we will be

  1. Found this at the right time. We're about to go 700 miles see my mother, for what will most likely be the last time. Beautiful thoughts, thanks for sharing.

  2. I'm so sorry to hear that Mike, My thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family. I appreciate your kind words about my thoughts.

  3. Hugs to you Janet . . . beautiful poem . . .

  4. A lovely tribute Janet darling.
I adore my mom, although she drove me crazy when I was younger. I cannot imagine how would I feel if I lost her...probably emptier, lonelier, unsafe...I truly hope you don't feel that though...because I also believe with all my heart that when they go...they never leave our side. Kisses Janet sweetie :).

  5. Thank you Unikorna, Even through we have tough times with our Mom's, in the later years we learn to love them no matter what our history with them was, at least if we mature right! Me and my Mom had some hard years too when she was sick. But in the end she was my best friend. I do believe that they are still are around us after they pass on, in my dreams I swear I can feel her hugging me and I always wake up feeling happy :)
