Engulfed by Grief

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all doing well. I am doing pretty good. A week ago today I attended a memorial service for my neighbor Hedi. Hedi was only 37 years old. Last October she went to the hospital for a pain in her chest. It wound up being linked to a few brain tumors. When they discovered this it was already to late. She left behind a son who is only 11 years old and her husband. I have been overwhelmed in the past two years with death and disease all around me, my best friend Sue gone at 59yrs old, Wendy 52yrs old, My mother and mother in law 5 months apart and just a couple of weeks ago two people I cared for at the village only two days apart only 31 and 59. Being a spiritual person I am trying to figure out what this is teaching me. I usually think it is teaching me how precious life is, but I already know that. Is it to teach me to take better care of myself??? I am already working on that. There must be something else, some lesson that will come out of all this grief and loss. I know as you get older you begin to lose more people in your life. In this case though alot of them were too young. Whatever the lesson though it is a hard learned one.
Thanks for visiting my blog today.
Janet :)

  1. Perhaps it is teaching you the lesson of DETACHMENT, Janet. When you lost your mom and mother in law, you came face to face with the reality of death. The family of these people close to you have the same lessons to learn from the death of their loved ones. You on the other hand have to learn to detach and let them experience this. Detaching doesn't mean being insensitive. It only means that you have learned to let go and accept things as they are- life as it is. People in our lives come and go. It is how you deal with loss that matters most. Will you allow it to pull you down or will it inspire you to make the most of your own life- YOUR CHOICE. :)

    God bless you, Janet!

  3. Life is like the Seasons - Spring Summer Autumn Winter. Death is right and natural when it arrives in the winter of our life, to take us to the Summerlands.

What is hard is when Young Death arrives and cuts off the branch before the bud has fully opened.
